The 366 SPS K-9 Security Police Website. In 1965, five Cannon AFB K-9 Handlers were among the first K-9 Handlers to be deployed to Vietnam to assist in the protection of U. S. Air Force bases from ground attack by Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces. Several of the Cannon AFB K-9 Handler teams were assigned to the 366th SPS K-9 Unit, located at Danang AB, Vietnam.
